Bob Dylan the night we called it a day lyrics/歌词
There was a moon out in space
But a cloud drifted over it's face
You kissed me and went on your way
The night we called it a day
I heard the song of the spheres
Like a minor lament in my ears
I hadn't the heart left to pray
The night we called it a day
Soft through the dark
The hoot of an owl in the sky
Sad though his song
No bluer was he than I
The moon went down stars were gone
But the sun didn't rise with the dawn
There wasn't a thing left to say
The night we called it a day
There wasn't a thing left to say
The night we called it a day

Passion Pit - Where The Sky Hangs Lyrics
It goes up, it goes down
It goes any way the wind would like to throw it around
I was lost, now I'm found
I put my hands in the air and my knees to the ground, yeah
The pieces of the all that I could only hold, yeah
I could never say what you want me to say
I've got somebody else just to keep me on my toes again
I can barely stand when you're coming too close
I get caught up in your heartstrings
Way up, where all of the sky hangs
I'll take all that I can get
Just don't make me go
Was it here? Was it there?
Was it swirling around us in the atmosphere?
Is it us? Is it them?
It's the ones plucking the petals 'til we're left with the stem
The people push it forward, my body can't afford it
I step up and take it, but I fall to the side
I've got somebody else just to keep me on my toes again
I can barely stand when you're coming too close
I get caught up in your heartstrings
Way up, where all of the sky hangs
I'll take all that I can get
Just don't make me go
I get caught up in your heartstrings
Way up, where all of the sky hangs
I'll take all that I can get
Just don't make me go
Don't make me go, go
Don't make me go, go
Don't make me go, go
Don't make me go, go
What's it cost? What's it cost?
What's it cost? It ain't that costly
And I got lost, yeah I got lost
So what's it costing me to get right back to you?
I get caught up in your heartstrings
Way up, where all of the sky hangs
I'll take all that I can get
Just don't make me go
I get caught up in your heartstrings
Way up, where all of the sky hangs
I'll take all that I can get
Just don't make me go

By Barbara J. Crocker
My grandmother became a widow in 1970. Shortly after that, we went to the animal shelter to pick out a puppy to keep her company. Grandma decided on a little terrier that had a reddish-brown spot above each eye. Because of these spots, the dog was promptly named Penny.
Grandma and Penny quickly became very attached to each other, but that attachment grew much stronger about three years later when Grandma had a stroke. Grandma could no longer work, so when she came home from the hospital, she and Penny were constant companions.
After her stroke, it became a real problem for Grandma to let Penny in and out because the door was at the bottom of a flight of stairs. So a mechanism using a rope and pulley was installed from the back door to a handle at the top of the stairs. Grandma just had to pull the handle to open and close the door. If the store was out of Penny’s favorite dog food, Grandma would make one of us cook Penny browned beef with diced potatoes in it. I can remember teasing my grandmother that she loved that dog better than she loved her family.
As the years passed, Grandma and Penny became inseparable. Grandma’s old house could be filled to the brim with people, but if Grandma went to take her nap, Penny walked along beside her and stayed by her side until she awoke. As Penny aged, she could no longer jump up on the bed to lay next to Grandma, so she laid on the rug beside the bed. If Grandma went into the bathroom, Penny would hobble along beside her, wait outside the door and accompany her back to the bed or chair. Grandma never went anywhere without her faithful companion by her side.
The time came when both my grandmother and Penny’s health were failing fast. Penny couldn’t get around very well, and Grandma had been hospitalized several times. My uncle and I lived with Grandma, so Penny was never left alone, even when Grandma was in the hospital. During these times, Penny sat at the window looking out for the car bringing Grandma home and would excitedly wait at the door when Grandma came through it. Each homecoming was a grand reunion between the two.
On Christmas Day in 1985, Grandma was again taken to the hospital. Penny, as usual, sat watching out the window for the car bringing Grandma home. Two mornings later when the dog woke up, she couldn’t seem to work out the stiffness in her hips as she usually did. The same morning, she began having seizures. At age fifteen, we knew it was time. My mother and aunt took her to the veterinarian and stayed with her until the end.
Now the big dilemma was whether to tell Grandma while she was still in the hospital or wait. The decision was made to tell her while she was in the hospital because when we pulled up at the house, the first thing Grandma would look for was her beloved Penny watching out the window and then happily greeting her at the door. Grandma shed some tears but said she knew that it had to be done so Penny wouldn’t suffer.
That night while still in the hospital, Grandma had a massive heart attack. The doctors frantically worked on her but could not revive her. After fifteen years of loving companionship, Grandma and Penny passed away within a few hours of each other. God had it all worked out – Penny was waiting at door when Grandma came Home.

There was a group called "The Fisherman's Fellowship". They were surrounded by streams andlakes full of hungry fish. They met regularly to discuss the call to fish, and the thrill of catchingfish. They got excited about fishing!!
Someone suggested that they needed a philosophy of fishing, so they carefully defined andredefined fishing, and the purpose of fishing. They developed fishing strategies and tactics. Then they realized that they had been going at it backwards. They had approached fishing fromthe point of view of the fisherman, and not from the point of view of the fish. How do fish viewthe world? How does the fisherman appear to the fish? What do fish eat, and when? These areall good things to know. So they began research studies, and attended conferences on fishing. Some traveled to far away places to study different kinds of fish, with different habits. Somegot PhD's in fishology. But no one had yet gone fishing.
So a committee was formed to send out fishermen. As prospective fishing placesoutnumbered fishermen, the committee needed to determine priorities.
A priority list of fishing places was posted on bulletin boards in all of the fellowship halls. Butstill, no one was fishing. A survey was launched, to find out why… Most did not answer thesurvey, but from those that did, it was discovered that some felt called to study fish, a few tofurnish fishing equipment, and several to go around encouraging the fisherman.
What with meetings, conferences, and seminars, they just simply didn't have time to fish.
Now, Jake was a newcomer to the Fisherman's Fellowship. After one stirring meeting of theFellowship, Jake went fishing. He tried a few things, got the hang of it, and caught a choice fish.At the next meeting, he told his story, and he was honored for his catch, and then scheduledto speak at all the Fellowship chapters and tell how he did it. Now, because of all the speakinginvitations and his election to the board of directors of the Fisherman's Fellowship, Jake nolonger has time to go fishing.
But soon he began to feel restless and empty. He longed to feel the tug on the line once again. So he cut the speaking, he resigned from the board, and he said to a friend, "Let's go fishing."They did, just the two of them, and they caught fish.
The members of the Fisherman's Fellowship were many, the fish were plentiful, but the fisherswere few.

The mourners dispersed from the graveside in groups of twos and threes. They paused to pay their condolences to the family, some shaking hands and others kissing and hugging. I couldn’t hear their words of comfort but imagined that they included such phrases as sadly missed and will be remembered and had a good, long life; all of which were perfectly true. I watched the family make their way along the path and I hoped that there would be no regrets for deeds done or not done, just good memories to reflect upon and their lives to live.
It was time for me to leave too, I supposed. I wasn’t prepared for this at all. How could I be? Maybe I should be making my way to the Pearly Gates, but I had no sense of direction when I was alive so I had no chance of finding my way now as a spirit, if indeed that is what I am. Is it correct to say “I am” if I am no longer, if I don’t actually exist? I tried to take stock of how I was feeling and realised it was just that what was missing. Feeling. Without my old body there were no aches and pains, nor was I experiencing any anxiety. I didn’t feel hungry, thirsty or tired. Time was irrelevant. Perhaps my spirit would just drift along in this way for eternity.
I had never believed in the concept of heaven or hell. Nor had I had subscribed to that school of thought that your spirit would enter another form of life, but it gave me something to ponder while I still could. I wouldn’t wish to be reincarnated as a human and go through all those stages before you felt comfortable in your own skin; falling in and out of love, swotting for exams and dealing with teenage children. Neither did I fancy coming back as any form of animal. I just wanted to continue floating aimlessly towards the glow of light up ahead.
“I think she’s back with us” said a voice I didn’t recognise.
I wanted to ask where I was and with whom but no words escaped me.
“You’ve been in an accident and you’re in hospital. Can you tell me how you’re feeling?”
Actually, I couldn’t. I’d been given a taste of freedom and now it would seem I was back to dealing with the struggles of everyday life. Would that seem ungrateful to the hospital staff?

与Dionne Warwick合唱的《How Many Times Can We Say Goodbye》。

Neither article is made in Beijing.
They bought neither house. = They didn’t buy either house.
He answered neither of the letters.
None of us are perfect.
Neither of the cars was / were damaged.
Neither he nor I am well educated.
②neither...nor...
—I don’t like this dress.
—Neither / Nor do I. 我也不喜欢。
